Yet again Leazes Park has produced a fantastic nights fishing, 8 anglers fished the lake at varying times in some pretty poor windy weather, runs and fish came steadily, the first major coup of the night went to fisheries officer Paddy Hutchison (aka TRUFFLE SHUFFLE KING) by taking a beautiful mirror of over 17lbs, thus beating the club record by some way, scales have to be checked and verified, and a full x-ray of the fish is required just in case the fish was eating lead boilies ( hahahahahaha!),

Fish still came steadily with committee members Rob Walker (aka. HARRY POTTER) and AndyThompson (aka. GOLIATH) taking 2 fish each, club bailiff Norman Firby (aka.JETHRO) also joined in the fun taking 3 very nice fish, one of wich was a smidge under 20lbs, not to be outdone Neil Moreland (aka. TOP ROD) pitched in with a fin perfect 17lb fish that had him all over the lake,
Club chairman Ian Rankin (aka.BALDY) had a mixed bag on the night having 5 runs but missing 4 of them and ended up with 1 fish for 4 lbs awwwwww!, club bailiff Mark Wilkinson (aka. DID YE CALL MY PINT A PUFF) weighed in with two fish on the night with the best being a beauty of a fish weighing 23lb 4oz,it was decided on the bank to name this fish DORSAL as it has a very distinctive split in the dorsal fin,
Then we come to junior angler Fergus Mcgrady (aka.ORF WITH THEIR HEADS!), Fergus has proved himself to be a very keen learner when it comes to the art of catching carp, This was rewarded with 6 runs resulting with 2 fish on the bank, Fergus had more than his fair share of bad luck during the night with a hook pull at the bank and 3 tackle malfunctions, but perseverance paid off and he put the best fish off the night on the bank, a stonking 23lb 10oz common, WELL DONE FEGUS!, this fish was also named on the bank as QUASIMODO as to the distinctive hump on the fishes shoulder, all in all there were 28 runs resulting in 15 fish on the bank, i for one cant wait to get back there and try again.
